Drop in to The Place Stamford and choose from a wide range of arts and crafts with something for all ages! These Spanish sessions with Eva are lots of fun, with learning taking place in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. If we have enough children we will run a beginners session 10:45/11- 11:45.
12:15pm - 1pm Lunch with Child led Home Ed Magazine Group
While the children eat those that want to can carry on creating articles for their own home ed magazine. There is no charge for this - it is a self-led group and is up to the children to decide each week what they would like to do.
1pm - 2:30pm - Musical Theatre and Drama
A fun session where we will look at drama, song and dance and combinations of them all! This session is with Katie.
2:45pm - 3:45pm - Art
For art we are splitting in to two groups. Please book by choosing the group your child would like to mostly be in. There may be times, for example when one group is finishing a project, when we move children about for an odd session. Also if it becomes apparent that a child isn’t in the appropriate group we reserve the right to swap them over, and will let you know if this is the case.
Art 1 - Art with Lisa, looking in depth at different techniques and medium to create detailed pieces of art - great for older children who want to improve their art skills and perhaps prepare for further art study.
Art 2 - Art with Katie, working on different projects or with a different medium each week, sometimes looking at different artists and taking inspiration from various sources. Great for those who want to create projects using inspiration and their imagination.
Lunch
Children are welcome to bring lunch with them and eat on site in our workshop room. Please ask your children to tidy all their lunch things away and pick up any dropped food etc. Please also ask them to eat in the workshop room only and not any of our other rooms.

Home Ed Tweens & Teens Craft Workshops - Resin
These monthly craft sessions are aimed at home educated tweens & teens ages 12+ and are a great opportunity to meet other home ed teens while enjoying learning a new craft. Parents are welcome to join in too (they will need their own ticket) or they can choose to leave their child with us or stay on site.
12th March - Resin. Participants will learn how to measure, mix and colour epoxy resin, they can choose from colours and glitters to add to their resin and/or add in dried flowers. They can make items such as trinket trays, bookmarks, coasters and jewellery.
9th April - Needle Felted Flowers. Participants will learn how to needle felt and use their pieces to create 3D flowers, complete with stems.
14th May - Lino Printing. Participants will learn how to use blades to cut lino, how to adapt a simple picture to a lino cut thinking about the negative images. They will cut their own lino design and print it on a few greeting cards and a tote bag.
11th June - Shrink Plastic. Participants can design and create items with shrink plastic. We will bake and shrink our designs then have a choice of a gloss varnish or UV resin on top before making the pieces in to items such as keyrings, pendants and earrings.
3D Stick Frames
In this workshop we will be making fun 3D hexagonal frames from lolly sticks! We will colour the sticks then use hot glue to create the 3D structures that can be used as frames or a lightweight shelves.
This workshop is suitable for adults and children ages 11+. The price includes all materials plus a hot drink.

Each session will start with a story, followed by a choice of activities. This group is usually run by Charlotte. You can book this as a block for £36 or weekly for £7pw.
Maths KS3 10:20am - 11:05am
In this session we are covering the KS3 mathematics syllabus. The aim is to prepare students for the maths GCSE course. In September we will have KS3, pre-GCSE/foundation GCSE and Higher GCSE classes. Katie will be happy to advise which classes students should take in September. Homework will be set most weeks. This session is with Katie.
English 11:10am - 11:55pm
KS3 with Katie
This group is aimed at children ages 11+ and will be covering a range of KS3 English topics. This term we will be looking Romeo and Juliet using a variety of resources. For the final week we will be joining the KS3 and the Creative English group together and Katie will run a ‘Masked Party’ to celebrate the end of term, with Romeo & Juliet themed activities and challenges.
Creative English with Charlotte
In this group children aged approximately 7 - 11 will look at different children’s stories, poems and books each week and complete a variety of activities inspired by the texts. This is a fun session which encourages children’s imaginations and love of literature. This session is with Charlotte. For the final week we will be joining the KS3 and the Creative English group together and Katie will run a ‘Masked Party’ to celebrate the end of term, with Romeo & Juliet themed activities and challenges.
Business Enterprise 12:40 - 1:25
In this group children are working together in small groups to build a business. Each week will take on a different theme learning skills and knowledge to turn them in to young entrepreneurs. Where possible we will have visiting speakers such as Jess from The Little Business Fairy. We have already covered mind maps, logos, business ideas, business names and slogans. Still to come we will be looking at, costings and profit, excel spreadsheets, advertising, social media and lots more. Children will be starting to work on their products that they would like to bring to market. The price for this workshop includes as small budget for each group to get their business ideas started.
If new children would like to join this group then they can either slot in to existing businesses or come up with their own ideas.

Religious Studies 1:30pm - 2:15pm
In this comparative religion unit learners will explore ideas about what we mean about religion, followed by a look at the concepts at the centre of the major religious traditions. Students will look at topics such as ‘What is religion?’, ‘Why do most people believe in only one God’ and ‘are religions really very different?’.
This session is run by Tom, a RS and Philososphy teacher and home educating dad. It is aimed mainly at ages approx 10 - 16 though older children are very welcome to join.
Philosophy 2:25pm - 3:10pm
In this session Tom will be leading students to question everything they think they know! Topics covered may include ‘What is philosophy and is it a waste of time?’, ‘Why should we be good?’ and ‘Is free will really an illusion?’. Students should leave with more questions than they had coming in, and will be building a framework to be able to answer some of these. This session is aimed at children ages 10 - 16.

Silver Course - Week 1
Four Week Silver Course - Week 1
This four week silver course will take you from a complete beginner to a silversmith who can make their own rings and earrings, work with silver clay, fire and solder their pieces and work with hammers and other tools to create their silver jewellery.
At the end of the course you should have at least three different types of silver rings, a pendant and one or more pairs of earrings. All materials, tools and instructions are included. There will be a maximum of 6 participants on this course to give everyone chance to benefit from small group learning.
Week 1 - Silver Clay
Work with silver clay to create pieces that will be finished later in the course. You may use your clay to make a pendant, studs, earrings and/or a pendant. You will learn how to prepare your pieces for firing, then we you will fire them with a blow torch.
Week 2 - Ring Making
We will use silver wire to create 2 or 3 rings. You will learn how to measure and cut the silver, hot so prepare them for firing, how to use solder to close the ring, then how to shape texture and fit the rings. At least one of your rings will be saves to add a silver clay topper at a future session.
Week 3 - Studs and Jump Rings
This week you will learn how to solder stud backs to earrings. You will use your previously made silver clay pieces and/or jump rings or wire to create a pair(s) of studs. This may include soldering jump rings and/or hammering or stamp jump rings or wire. We will also show you how to solder a jump ring on a pendant using a third hand.
Week 4 - Spiral Ring and Ring Topper
You will use silver wire to create an adjustable spiral ring, adding texture to the wire. You will also use a previously made ring and silver clay topper, soldering the topper on to the ring. We will then tumble any outstanding pieces of jewellery so that you can leave with your finished items of jewellery.

Fused Glass Workshop

Create a picture, arch or suncatchers by cutting, grinding and layering coloured glass. You will leave your pieces with us for firing and they will usually be completed within a couple of weeks.

Watercolour Flower Cards
In this watercolour workshop you will learn how to paint a variety of different flowers and leaves before using your paintings to create greetings cards. Perfect for Mothers day, Birthdays, Thank you cards and more. You should have enough time to make at least two cards and can choose from bouquet cards, wreath cards and single flowers.

Macrame Flowers Workshop
Join us to create beautiful large macrame flowers which make lovely home decor! You will learn the basics of macrame including the larkshead knot and different forms of the square knot and once you have practiced and mastered these you will move on to creating a flower.

For the final week we will be joining the KS3 and the Creative English group together and Katie will run a ‘Masked Party’ to celebrate the end of term, with Romeo & Juliet themed activities and challenges.
Business Enterprise 12:40 - 1:25
In this group children are working together in small groups to build a business. Each week will take on a different theme learning skills and knowledge to turn them in to young entrepreneurs. Where possible we will have visiting speakers such as Jess from The Little Business Fairy. We have already covered mind maps, logos, business ideas, business names and slogans. Still to come we will be looking at, costings and profit, excel spreadsheets, advertising, social media and lots more. Children will be starting to work on their products that they would like to bring to market. The price for this workshop includes as small budget for each group to get their business ideas started.
If new children would like to join this group then they can either slot in to existing businesses or come up with their own ideas.

Religious Studies 1:30pm - 2:15pm
In this comparative religion unit learners will explore ideas about what we mean about religion, followed by a look at the concepts at the centre of the major religious traditions. Students will look at topics such as ‘What is religion?’, ‘Why do most people believe in only one God’ and ‘are religions really very different?’.
This session is run by Tom, a RS and Philososphy teacher and home educating dad. It is aimed mainly at ages approx 10 - 16 though older children are very welcome to join.

In this session Tom will be leading students to question everything they think they know! Topics covered may include ‘What is philosophy and is it a waste of time?’, ‘Why should we be good?’ and ‘Is free will really an illusion?’. Students should leave with more questions than they had coming in, and will be building a framework to be able to answer some of these. This session is aimed at children ages 10 - 16.

Lunch

Drop in to The Place Stamford and choose from a wide range of arts and crafts with something for all ages! Little ones can choose from plaster shapes to paint, or create some art with out mixed craft boxes and art projects. Crafters of all ages can choose form a range of crafts including jewellery making, felting, watercolour, lino printing, painting, weaving, felting and more. All materials are included, instructions are given to get you started and we will then be around to help if you need it!
Coffees and cakes are available to buy too!

Saturday Art Club
Our Saturday art and craft club aimed at children ages approximately 8 - 12. In this group we will be working on different projects or with a different medium each week, sometimes looking at different artists and taking inspiration from various sources. Great for those who want to create projects using inspiration and their imagination. Unfinished projects can be either taken home to complete or we can keep them until the child artist next joins us.
Example projects could include watercolours, sewing, printing, card making, drawing and lots more!
Macrame Flowers Workshop
Join us to create beautiful large macrame flowers which make lovely home decor! You will learn the basics of macrame including the larkshead knot and different forms of the square knot and once you have practiced and mastered these you will move on to creating a flower.

Everyone will be delighted as their blank canvas will transform in one of the kind painting created by you.
I will provide everything you need to complete your artwork.

These Spanish sessions with Eva are lots of fun, with learning taking place in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. If we have enough children we will run a beginners session 10:45/11- 11:45.
12:15pm - 1pm Lunch with Child led Home Ed Magazine Group
While the children eat those that want to can carry on creating articles for their own home ed magazine. There is no charge for this - it is a self-led group and is up to the children to decide each week what they would like to do.
1pm - 2:30pm - Musical Theatre and Drama
A fun session where we will look at drama, song and dance and combinations of them all! This session is with Katie.
2:45pm - 3:45pm - Art
For art we are splitting in to two groups. Please book by choosing the group your child would like to mostly be in. There may be times, for example when one group is finishing a project, when we move children about for an odd session. Also if it becomes apparent that a child isn’t in the appropriate group we reserve the right to swap them over, and will let you know if this is the case.
Art 1 - Art with Lisa, looking in depth at different techniques and medium to create detailed pieces of art - great for older children who want to improve their art skills and perhaps prepare for further art study.

Primary Topic Group 10:00am - 11:00am
This fun session will look at various topics each half term, with stories, crafts and cross-curricular activities for children to enjoy. Each session will start with a story, followed by a choice of activities. This group is usually run by Charlotte. You can book this as a block for £36 or weekly for £7pw.
Maths KS3 10:20am - 11:05am
In this session we are covering the KS3 mathematics syllabus. The aim is to prepare students for the maths GCSE course. In September we will have KS3, pre-GCSE/foundation GCSE and Higher GCSE classes. Katie will be happy to advise which classes students should take in September. Homework will be set most weeks. This session is with Katie.
English 11:10am - 11:55pm

Hypnobirthing is a complete antenatal preparation course, with the added benefit of meeting other parents-to-be to find support and friendship. Hypnobirthing can be used for all births – vaginal or c-section, without drugs, or with an epidural, or with as many drugs as you wish. However your baby arrives into this world, completing a course in hypnobirthing will help you understand how your body works, how labour happens, and what your body is capable of. The course is 10 hours in total and includes antenatal information, self hypnosis techniques, breathing methods, and the science behind why hypnobirthing can help you stay confident, calm, and in control of your baby’s birth.

Home Ed Tweens & Teens Craft Workshops - Needle Felted Flowers
These monthly craft sessions are aimed at home educated tweens & teens ages 12+ and are a great opportunity to meet other home ed teens while enjoying learning a new craft. Parents are welcome to join in too (they will need their own ticket) or they can choose to leave their child with us or stay on site.
9th April - Needle Felted Flowers. Participants will learn how to needle felt and use their pieces to create 3D flowers, complete with stems.
14th May - Lino Printing. Participants will learn how to use blades to cut lino, how to adapt a simple picture to a lino cut thinking about the negative images. They will cut their own lino design and print it on a few greeting cards and a tote bag.
11th June - Shrink Plastic. Participants can design and create items with shrink plastic. We will bake and shrink our designs then have a choice of a gloss varnish or UV resin on top before making the pieces in to items such as keyrings, pendants and earrings.

Felting with Karen Stewart - Felted Bowls
Wet Felted Bowls
Come and have a fun day, creating a beautiful decorative bowl in a colour and design of your choosing. Perfect as a gift too!
This workshop is 4 hours long and is suitable for those who have not tried wet felting before, or those who have tried some wet felting but want to learn how to create a 3D shape with no stitching.
You will learn not only how to wet felt, but also how to felt around a template and how to use different yarns, silk and plant fibres to decorate. Then just using soap and water and a little ‘elbow grease’ we will felt all the fibres together and create the bowl shape.
All materials are provided, all you need to bring are 2 hand towels and a bag to take your damp bowl home.

Crepe Paper Flowers with Jane
Join Jane from Circa Flora between 10am-3pm to make some realistic daffodils from crepe paper. Fresh daffodils last a week if you’re lucky - your crepe paper ones will serve you year after year. You will make 5 flowers and 2 buds and will be able to take away supplies to make more if you would like.

Jesmonite Workshop
Jesmonite Resin Workshop
Learn how to mix and colour Jesmonite and create items such as coasters, candle holders and pendants. Add coloured jesmonite chips to your resin to create a tereazzo effect. For items such as coasters you can also use an acrylic seal for water protection. You will need to leave at least some of your items to finish hardening and collect at a later date.
All materials and full instructions included plus a hot drink.
Affirmation Plaques
Create a plaque using a mixture of mediums such as acrylic paints and paint pens. We will have range of affirmation (and some funny sayings!) stencils ready or we can cut your choice of words - either send them to us in advance, or we can cut them on the cricut at the start of the workshop.

Boats in Ink & Watercolour with Karin Christensen
Boats can have a lot of personality. Join artist Karin Christensen for a day of painting boats using inks and watercolours. We will play with different techniques to create strong lines and texture, and also experiment with mixing inks and watercolours.

Fimo and Metallic Leaf
In this fimo workshop we will be working with diffferent types of fimo including fimo soft, translucent and metallic/glitter. We will mix colours and translucent clay together with metallic leaf and mica powders to create beautiful slabs that can then be cut using our wide range of cutters to make jewellery, keyrings and more.
Your fimo pieces will be cooked over the following week ready for you to collect. You may want to book a UV resin workshop or drop in slot to add UV resin on to your pieces once they are cooked.

Join us to create your own stunning silver jewellery. In this workshop you will be using silver wire to create a bangle. You will then use silver clay to make a small charm to attach to your bangle. You can choose from a selection of textured rollers, stamps, cutters and moulds with your silver clay. You will learn skills involving cutting the wire, soldering, hammering and texturing, You will use a blow torch to fire the silver clay. We will show you how to add and solder a jump ring to attach your charm to the pendant.They will all then be tumbled to make them nice and shiny! You can stay for the last half hour for this or collect it at a later date.

These monthly craft sessions are aimed at home educated tweens & teens ages 12+ and are a great opportunity to meet other home ed teens while enjoying learning a new craft. Parents are welcome to join in too (they will need their own ticket) or they can choose to leave their child with us or stay on site.
11th June - Shrink Plastic. Participants can design and create items with shrink plastic. We will bake and shrink our designs then have a choice of a gloss varnish or UV resin on top before making the pieces in to items such as keyrings, pendants and earrings.

Join us to create a selection of beautiful, colourful and sparkly selection of resin items. Choose from bookmarks, coasters, decorations and jewellery. Full instructions and all materials provided, though if you have anything you would like to add to your resin pieces bring it along!

Felting with Karen Stewart - Felted Pictures
Spend a day relaxing, ‘painting with wool’ and go home with a beautiful piece of felted artwork for you or a loved one.
This workshop is an excellent introduction to wet felting. You will not only learn how to handle and lay out the wool fibre, but also how to create beautiful texture and details using a mixture of wool, silk and plant fibres. Then using just soap and water we will felt all the fibres together to create the final picture. Your finished picture will measure approximately 30x30cm.
This workshop is from 10am to 4pm. All materials are provided, all you need to bring are 2 hand towels and a bag to take your damp picture home in.

Our Saturday art and craft club aimed at children ages approximately 8 - 12. In this group we will be working on different projects or with a different medium each week, sometimes looking at different artists and taking inspiration from various sources. Great for those who want to create projects using inspiration and their imagination. Unfinished projects can be either taken home to complete or we can keep them until the child artist next joins us.
Example projects could include watercolours, sewing, printing, card making, drawing and lots more!

As spring is approaching, join artist Karin Christensen for a morning of painting colourful flowers in watercolours. Practice wet in wet technique for painting in a loose style, and learn ways of creating texture in your art.

Primary Topic Group 10:00am - 11:00am
This fun session will look at various topics each half term, with stories, crafts and cross-curricular activities for children to enjoy. Each session will start with a story, followed by a choice of activities. This group is usually run by Charlotte. You can book this as a block for £36 or weekly for £7pw.
Maths KS3 10:20am - 11:05am
In this session we are covering the KS3 mathematics syllabus. The aim is to prepare students for the maths GCSE course. In September we will have KS3, pre-GCSE/foundation GCSE and Higher GCSE classes. Katie will be happy to advise which classes students should take in September. Homework will be set most weeks. This session is with Katie.
English 11:10am - 11:55pm
KS3 with Katie
This group is aimed at children ages 11+ and will be covering a range of KS3 English topics. This term we will be looking Romeo and Juliet using a variety of resources. For the final week we will be joining the KS3 and the Creative English group together and Katie will run a ‘Masked Party’ to celebrate the end of term, with Romeo & Juliet themed activities and challenges.

Business Enterprise 12:40 - 1:25
In this group children are working together in small groups to build a business. Each week will take on a different theme learning skills and knowledge to turn them in to young entrepreneurs. Where possible we will have visiting speakers such as Jess from The Little Business Fairy. We have already covered mind maps, logos, business ideas, business names and slogans. Still to come we will be looking at, costings and profit, excel spreadsheets, advertising, social media and lots more. Children will be starting to work on their products that they would like to bring to market. The price for this workshop includes as small budget for each group to get their business ideas started.
If new children would like to join this group then they can either slot in to existing businesses or come up with their own ideas.

Religious Studies 1:30pm - 2:15pm
In this comparative religion unit learners will explore ideas about what we mean about religion, followed by a look at the concepts at the centre of the major religious traditions. Students will look at topics such as ‘What is religion?’, ‘Why do most people believe in only one God’ and ‘are religions really very different?’.
This session is run by Tom, a RS and Philososphy teacher and home educating dad. It is aimed mainly at ages approx 10 - 16 though older children are very welcome to join.

In this session Tom will be leading students to question everything they think they know! Topics covered may include ‘What is philosophy and is it a waste of time?’, ‘Why should we be good?’ and ‘Is free will really an illusion?’. Students should leave with more questions than they had coming in, and will be building a framework to be able to answer some of these. This session is aimed at children ages 10 - 16.

Lunch
There is time for lunch 11:55am to 12:40pm and we ask that children eat in the workshop room only. Please ask your children to tidy all their lunch things away and pick up any dropped food etc.

Crochet Drop In
Join Lisa for this half term crochet drop in. Complete beginners can learn how to get started with crochet - they may just learn to chain and then take their crochet upstairs to continue practising. Those that can already chain or how a basic stitch can make a hair bobble, wind spinner or granny square.
Slots run every 30mins. After you 30mins you are welcome to continue crocheting in our upstairs rooms.
Due to part of this workshop being unsupervised children under 10 will need an adults to stay with them.
We have opened up two slots every half hour - if three or more friends would like to come together just get in touch and we can book you in.
Although this is a bookable event if there are spaces still available on the day then you can just drop in.

While the children eat those that want to can carry on creating articles for their own home ed magazine. There is no charge for this - it is a self-led group and is up to the children to decide each week what they would like to do.
1pm - 2:30pm - Musical Theatre and Drama
A fun session where we will look at drama, song and dance and combinations of them all! This session is with Katie.
2:45pm - 3:45pm - Art
For art we are splitting in to two groups. Please book by choosing the group your child would like to mostly be in. There may be times, for example when one group is finishing a project, when we move children about for an odd session. Also if it becomes apparent that a child isn’t in the appropriate group we reserve the right to swap them over, and will let you know if this is the case.

Silver Clay Workshop
Join us to create your own stunning silver jewellery. In this workshop you will be using silver clay to create jewellery items of your choice. You can use textured rollers moulds and cutters to create studs, earrings and pendants. You will learn to use a blow torch to fire the clay and where needed you will learn to solder silver studs and/or jump rings. They will all then be tumbled to make them nice and shiny! You can stay for the last half hour for this or collect it at a later date.
All materials and tuition included. As there are hazardous tools using such as saws and blow torches this workshop is recommended for adults, however responsible young adults ages 16 and 17 can also take part with a parent - both parent and child will need tickets.

Tweens & Teens UV Resin Workshop
This is a tweens and teens half term workshop.

Glass Painting Drop In
Join us this half term to paint your own glass tumbler. Use paints and paint pens to design your own glass, then when it’s dry take it home to cure in the oven (instructions will be given).
We have opened up slots for 4 every hour - get in touch if you’d like to book for a larger group.
You will paint your glasses in our upstairs workshop room. This is an unsupervised activity and as such children under 10 will need an adult to stay on site.
Book your time slot for your start time. We expect it to take approx 30-60mins in total.
Although this is a bookable event if there are time slots available on the day then you are welcome to drop in. If you would like to add extra glasses then you can add them on at £5 per glass and pay on the day.

Join Lisa on a Thursday afternoon to learn practice and improve your crochet skills.
Beginners will start downstairs with Lisa learning the techniques to get going with crochet. When the group is large enough, those that are more confident can join the crochet social upstairs and just get a bit of help from Lisa as and when needed.
£10 for beginners, £5 for social and those that only need to ask the odd question.

Drop in and Craft
Drop in to The Place Stamford and choose from a wide range of arts and crafts with something for all ages! Little ones can choose from plaster shapes to paint, or create some art with out mixed craft boxes and art projects. Young and young at heart can choose form a range of crafts including jewellery making, felting, watercolour, lino printing and more. All materials are included, instructions are given to get you started and we will then be around to help if you need it!

Tweens & Teens Stamped & Painted Tote Bags
This is a tweens & teens workshop for half term.
We will use a range of stamps brushes to paint and decorate tote bags. Each person can make two bags.
We recommend a minimum age of 11 for this workshop.

Macrame Drop In
Learn the basics of macrame and create your own plant holder, bottle bag or hanging. You will start downstairs, being shown the various macrame knots needed. Lisa will then get you started on your chosen project and you may move upstairs to continue. Full instructions are given.
Due to part of this workshop being unsupervised, and the difficulty of the projects, it has a minimum age of 11.A
We have opened up two slots every half hour - if three or more friends would like to come together just get in touch and we can book you in.
Book your time slot for your start time. We expect it to take approx two hours in total. You are also welcome to take your project home to complete once you know what you are doing.
Although this is a bookable event if there are time slots available on the day then you are welcome to drop in.

Felted Soaps Drop In
Use our wool carder to create a mini wool batt in your chosen colours, then use your wool to create a beautiful felted soap. Full instructions are given. You will start in our show carding your wool, then move upstairs to wet felt your soap. This is a self led activity - we will show you what to do and give you the materials, but you will not have supervision upstairs while felting your soap. As such children until 10 will need a parent to stay with them.
